Manchester United is first team to top $3bn

Manchester UnitedEnglish Premier League club Manchester United is the first professional sports team to be valued at more than $3 billion in the world, says Forbes Magazine.
According to a Forbes report on Monday, January 28, 2013, Man Utd received a huge amount in club’s shares after being offered little on the New York Stock Exchange last year. This has boosted the football team’s value to $3.3bn.
Man Utd is now comfortably ahead of the second-most valuable sports team Dallas Cowboys of the American NFL which is worth $2.1bn.
United which is owned by the American Glazer family boast of 659 million followers worldwide and we aren’t talking Twitter here.
