A rep for Beyonce has confirmed that the US star singer did actually lip-sync and not perform live at the 2013 Inauguration Ceremony for US President Barrack Obama held on Wednesday, January 23.
Speaking with CNN, the rep said ‘She did not sing live’, adding that a pre-recording of her rendition of the National Anthem played instead.
The rep further revealed that it was Bey’s choice not to sing live but to lip-sync over a pre-recorded version of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ on Sunday night. The reason was because she had not had enough time to practice with the band.
‘Because she didn’t have time to rehearse with the Marine Band, she decided to use her recording with the Marine Band’, the unnamed rep told CNN
