Tatoos and plastic surgery are not sinful- Chris Okotie

Former presidential aspirant and General Overseer of Household of God church Rev. Chris Okotie at a service held on Sunday January 13th at his church auditorium, told his flock that tattooing their body or even undergoing plastic surgery is not a sin before God.

According to reports, the pastor said a lot of people misinterpret a scripture in the bible which is supposedly against body art and enhancement. He said getting tattoos and plastic surgery is an individual decision and has nothing to do with God.

As much as I am not a holier than thou person, I really disagree with the controversial ex musician turned pastor cum politician. Ok, I may technically not have a case against surgery, but tattoos? Hell no. The first instance in the bible where God commanded his children against tattoos is seen in the book of Leviticus 19:28. The scriptures also admonishes in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 that our bodies are the temple of the Lord, and if any man defiles the Lord's temple, God will surely destroy him

I am also sure I am not the only person who faults Rev Okotie in his claims or thesis. It is not about misinterpreting the scripture; rather, what I see here is an over reasoning of scriptural logic. If we must serve God, we must do so righteously, in spirit and in truth.
